- Trip Overview My friend Bryden and I have created a tradition. Every winter since we started university we have gone on a trip. The first one was small; a few days in Death Valley.
- Travel to Bangkok Negative 23 degree weather, snow flurries, icy roads, layovers, 20 hours of flying, too many songs and TV shows and movies, and more craziness.
- A Day In Bangkok Both Bryden and I didn’t know what to expect of Bangkok.
- Exploring the Grand Palace on the Last Day in Bangkok I woke up early again, and finished writing the last post. Bryden woke up soon after, and we began preparing for the day.
- Chiang Mai and Mountains After a very comfortable and restful journey on the night train towards Chiang Mai, Bryden and I arrived easily in northern Thailand.
- Out of Chiang Mai and into The Hills This post will cover two days; one last quiet day in Chiang Mai, and one motorbiking into the hills south-west of Chiang Mai.
- Accidentally Entering Myanmar, Navigating Dirt Paths, and Concluding Our Loop After such an excellent first day of riding, Bryden and I were excited for more.
- Walking Among the Giants Today was one of the days I have been most looking forward to on this trip.
- From Thailand to Mandalay, Myanmar After such a lovely time in Thailand, I was sad to leave, but I knew that Myanmar would be extremely interesting.
- The Difficult Journey to Bagan After such a great introduction to Myanmar in Mandalay, I was sad to move on, however I looked forward to what I would be seeing in Bagan.
- Temples and Sunrises and Food, Oh My! After a great first afternoon and sunset in Bagan, we were excited to see more temples and pagodas while getting to know the area better.
- A Stopover in Shan State’s Inle Lake After being dropped off at 5:00am near our hotel in Nyaung Shwe, a town situated on the north on Inle Lake in Myanmar’s Shan State, we checked in…
- A Luxury Break in Singapore Kuala Lumpur was very enjoyable for our layover, but the city we have been anticipating most was Singapore.

- Overview Welcome to our blog! Bryden and I will be spending a month in South East Asia, and will cover our travels on this blog.
- Traveling to our start point We have completed nearly 1000 miles of our approximately 19,000 mile journey which so far has taken us through three states, and will bring us…
- The Long Haul Going into this long flight I had all these plans; I was going to listen to some podcasts, watch a movie or two, plan our trip a little, read the…
- First days in Vietnam First off, I’m sorry we didn't post last night. We thought we would have energy, but the jet lag got to us, so here is our first (albeit late) post from Vietnam!
- A change of scenery This morning we left Hanoi. Hanoi is a truly crazy city, and it is one that we have grown to love.
- Service to be resumed soon We apologize for no extended post today.
- Islands Upon Islands When we planned this trip we decided to go to Cat Ba island rather than take a cruise around Halong bay.
- Traveling constantly Sorry for the lateness of these posts - We have been meaning to write a post for the island adventures we have been on but we have been delayed by…
- Day 1 of our mountain adventures We arrived at the Ha Giang bus station quite early this morning, and were left to sleep on the bus until we would be kicked off around 8:00am.
- End of our mountain adventures Since our last post a lot had happened. First off - sorry for the lateness of this post.
- Travel and Caves I am writing this post along with the previous post which talked about our trip up north from Dong Hoi, a small town a few hundred miles south of…
- Hoi An It’s been far too long since we last posted. We have had a great past few days, and are excited to let you all know what we have been up to!
- Traveling to Dalat I am currently back at school, and doing very well after the first academic week.
- Adventures in Dalat After arriving in Dalat we decided to explore the city.
- Mui Ne When researching Vietnam there are a few things that I understood and expected.
- Mekong Delta Originally we planned to only go as far south as Saigon. Luckily we always stay flexible, and again on this trip our adaptability paid off.
- Singapore The “budget” part of trip has come to an end.
